918- Champion Ewe for Jerry and Rex Quam. In picture from

918 is a maternal sister, which means they have the same mother,
to the Champion Ewe at Louisville for Quam's last fall.

9076- Champion Ram for Jerry and Rex Quam. In the picture from
left to right is Jerry Quam, Rex Quam, Kaitlyn Verhaege and the Judge
Rob Zelinsky. 9076 is a full brother to the Reserve Jr Cahmpion Ram
at the Midwest Stud Ram Sale in Sedalia, Missouri for Quam's in 2009.
9076 was also Jr. Champion Ram Lamb, and Reserve Champion Ram
at the 2010 Iowa State Fair.

Champion Breeders Group for Jerry and Rex Quam. In the picture from
left to right is the judge Rob Zelinsky, Jerry Quam, Jake Herrig,
Larry Baumgardt, Kaitlyn Verhaege and Rex Quam. The sheep
in the picture all won there respective classes.

Along with these Champions the Quam's also had the Reserve Champion Ram of the Suffolk breed, showed in 10 indivual classes and were 1st prize winners in each of them.

The Quam's also won the Superintendent's Special, which consisted of a Yearling Ram and a Yearling Ewe, bred and owned by exhibitor for all meat breeds that were at the fair.

The Quam's also won the P.A. Anderson Challenge Special, which consisted of a Ram Lamb and a EweLamb, bred and owned by exhibitor for all meat breeds that were at the fair.

Iowa State Fair

Top 3 ewe lambs in the Late February class at the Iowa State Fair. Our
2nd place ewe is out of “Crown Jewell”, the 2009 National Champion
Ewe. Also member of 2nd pair of ewe lambs.

Top 3 ewe lambs from the Late January class at the Iowa State Fair. Our
2nd and 3rd place ewes are ET sisters to the Res Jr Champion Ram Lamb
at the Iowa State Fair. Our 2nd ewe lamb was in our 2nd pair of ewe
lambs.

Champion and Top Selling Ewe at the MN State Suffolk Sale

9080 RRNN Champ Ewe MN State Suffolk Sale-”Top Seller
Sired by the Bracco Ram, who in his first lamb crop for us has
already sired a class winning ewe lamb at Sedalia and also a
class winning ewe lamb at the National Jr. Show for Dustin
Vieths.

Dammed by a Paasch “Gold Nugget” daughter that goes back to
a Miller ewe. Our top slick shorn yearling ewe this year is out of
that same Miller ewe. Our “Gold Nugget” sons we have been using
the last couple years have worked very well for us and we
plan to keep utilizing some of his grandsons in our program this
fall. Should make an excellent addition to your breeding program.

He did very well showing this summer and either 482 or our 633 ram won the Fall ram lamb class at all 5 competitive shows we went to. 482 won 2 times including the Minnesota State Suffolk Show. 6039 RRNN was in our show flock this year and was also Champion Ewe at the Goodhue County Fair for Dustin. She is sired by “Cowboy”, who we have many daughters of and has an almost identical sister, so we are going to sell he at the North Star Sale October 27th. These kind will usually find their way back into our flock, but this year she will be able to go to yours. She was marked to “Easy RideRR” on September 4th.

Baumgardt 462 RRNN
“Athletic” is a top “Cowboy” son out of a “LeaRRjet” daughter who also produced our 2006 Champion ram at the Minnesota State Suffolk Show. “Athletic” always walked through the pens with such great balance, eye appeal and he just plain looks like an athlete. “Athletic” was very well received by both the judges and the fans. In 5 major shows he went to he stood form 1st to 3rd against some very stiff competition. Thank you to all the people who showed an interest in this stud ram, He went with some ewes after the Minnesota State Fair and most of the North Star Sale ewes will go with him the end of September.

Quam 5025 after she was crowned the Supreme Suffolk of the Minnesota State Fair FFA Show. Congratulations to Dustin Vieths who also won Champion with her at the Goodhue County Fair and the Minnesota State Fair 4H show. Another Congratulations to Dustin Vieths who then went on to win Supreme Showman of the FFA sheep show.

Quam 5070. Champion Ewe for Brady Vieths at the 2006 MN State Fair FFA Show shown slick shorn. 5070 also won the Slick Shorn Yearling Ewe Class at the IA and MNState Fairs in the Open Class. Quam 5-12 was the 2nd Slick Shorn ewe behind her at both shows. 5070 and 5-12 were also the 1st pair in the FFA show 2nd place pair of Yearling Ewes at the TOUGH MN State Fair Open Class Show.

Congratulations to Kalen Manthie with his success at the summer shows with the $250 Hamp ram he purchased from us in our Silent Auction this spring. He went on to win the FFA show for him. He now is being used to
start his Hamp program along with going on his commercial ewes.
